NCIA which is the affiliated organization of Ministry of Public Administration and Security integrating and operating the world’s first national information resources established the promotion plan for 『Smart Green NCIA』in order to develop as the base of the representative green development in IT field.

The background that the plan for 『Smart Green NCIA』was established is because the electric energy used has been increased sharply as the information resources managed by NCIA have been increased more than 25% every year since 2006 when NCIA was launched.

If this situation will be continued, it is expected that the power consumption will be increased suddenly more than 2 times for 5 years in the future from 89,718MWh in 2008 to 216,243MWh in 2013.

The main matters of the plan are to construct energy-efficient computerization environment by inducing Green Internet Data Center Technology such as the design of a standard computer room, the construction of monitoring system for the use of electricity and so on when building newly or extending, rebuilding a computer room.

Also, we will have a plan to reduce the electricity of 12,799MWh by 2012 by raising the rate to use jointly information resources via the actual onsolidation of the resources from the following year.

In addition, we are going to reduce the power energy as much as 23,103MWh by 2013 by expanding the introduction of the design technology and quipment which can raise the cooling efficiency of a computer room such as the introduction of a local cooling system and so on.

We have a plan to minimize the power loss in the conversion by introducing high-efficient electric supply apparatus, intellectual power supply system and etc, to raise the energy efficiency of computerized equipment and to purchase preferentially the product with high-efficiency by giving the additional points for high-efficient computerized equipment.

Besides, we are going to build the environment to use eco-friendly energy by scaling up light of the sun from 0.1% this year to 5% in 2013 and LED light from 4% this year to 50% in 2013.

NCIA forecasts that if the plan for 『Smart Green NCIA』will be promoted thly, electric power of about 38,923KWh(18%) and Carbon Dioxide Emission of 16,464TCO2(18%) will be reduced every year since 2013.
