¿µ»ó ÀÚ¸· Hi, I'm Seung-eun, an assistant deputy director of NIRS Gwangju. Do you happen to know what day today is? Today is June 24th ????? What day is it? June 24th is the ¡®Digital Government Day.¡¯ It is a day to commemorate the excellence of Korean Digital Government with the public. Korean Government was awarded one of the first place prizes among 193 countries in the UN e-government survey in 2020. NIRS has operated over 45,000 information resources of 45 government institutions as an exclusive government data center since 2005. About 5,000 visitors from about 160 countries around the world had paid visits to NIRS to study about distinguished Korean digital government for the past 10 years right before COVID-19 started to be prevalent. We used to invite the people who were interested in us and our services to the site every year, regretfully, however, we have had no option but to provide an online tour since last year due to the pandemic. This is the second LAN tour introducing the second center of NIRS, the NIRS Gwangju followed by last year. Let¡¯s begin! This is a reception office. NIRS commands a quite strict identity check when greeting visitors as one of the government institutions where require a top level of security. Please note that electronic devices such as USB, portable batteries, laptops, voice recorders, and cameras are prohibited items to be carried in. Then, shall we pick up a visitor¡¯s pass? Now we have a pass, let us move in. I am Hwang, Kyu-cheol, the head of NIRS Gwangju I thank you all for visiting us through the LAN tour. We are operating and managing a number of major information systems of government agencies and thriving to be the leader in the ICT field of the public sector. I hope we could meet at the actual site when the Covid-19 pandemic gets calm. Once again, thank you for joining the LAN tour. Now, we are moving to the Security Operation Center, shall we? Hi, would you introduce yourself, please? Hi, glad to meet you. I¡¯m Ju-yeol, a chief commanding officer of SOC. Could you briefly tell us about this room? Sure, SOC plays a role as the eyes of NIRS Gwangju. All the system operation statues are being monitored in real-time. There are over 10,000 hardware to care in NIRS Gwangju. This is a dashboard to show operation and management status. It is next to impossible to manage whole systems manually indeed. That¡¯s why we have introduced Big Data technologies in the monitoring scheme. In SOC, we manage system incidents and cyber threats. This room is operated 24/7 and hasn¡¯t turned its lights off since 2007 when it first started its services. Wow! it is amazing to know that you have been working days and nights for us! There are crucial systems for 7 public order-related institutions such as the Prosecution Service, National Police Agency, and Ministry of Justice in this room. We have some secrets to keep these critical national assets safe. Let me share with you some of them. First of all, there is an earthquake-proof constructive framework.
